Job Summary
Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is looking a highly motivated and skilled graduates to join our team as Research Officer-Intern. Selected candidate will receive specialized training while contributing to a cutting-edge research project titled Transmission zero (T0). The built capacity and contribution under this internship will significantly propel the progress of transgenesis research at IHI and in Tanzania at large toward malaria control and elimination. Transmission Zero is a global malaria research programme at IHI working to develop innovative genetic tools to stop transmission of malaria in Africa
Responsibility:
Responsibilities
Apply statistical and econometric methods to analyze data on malaria transmission, intervention impacts, and community-level economic implications
Assist in synthesizing scientific literature on malaria elimination strategies, particularly gene-drive and vector control interventions, to inform program activities
Prepare summary reports, graphs, and dashboards that translate complex data into clear insights for researchers, policymakers, and community stakeholders
Contribute to field activities by supporting surveys, monitoring socio-economic indicators, and engaging with communities to capture contextual data relevant to malaria control
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (entomologists, social scientists, modelers) within the Transmission Zero program, and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives

Job Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and experimental laboratory test- mainly in the fields of Immunology and Molecular Biology according to standard procedures (SOPs), ISO 15189. Requirements, GCP, GCLP and the study protocol in order to produce reliable and precise data for scientific investigations and meet customer satisfaction
Responsibility:
Responsibilities
Perform assigned lab Tests including lab analysis in Immunology and Serology according to respective SOPs, ISO 15189 requirement, Quality manual, Safety manual, Sample collection manual, GCP, GCLP and adherence to study protocols and ensure recording of accurate, precise and reliable test results
Adhering strictly to safety and hygiene instructions to prevent accidents and exposure to hazardous materials including Monitoring and maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organization
Preparation and reviewing of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP)
Taking part in designing, preparing, carrying out or supervising studies involving laboratory techniques
Carrying out quality control measures of all laboratory procedure which includes performance, monitoring and documentation of IQC, EQA, instrument performance, calibrations and maintenance
Receive, label, and prepare samples for analysis, and storage ensuring proper documentation and tracking and Maintain sample integrity and traceability throughout the testing process
Record test results accurately and maintain detailed records following GCLP, GCP, ISO 15189 documentation requirements, study protocols and Complete laboratory documentation, including worksheets, reports, data entry and logs
Ensure all samples are processed on time and results are delivered on time

Collaborate effectively with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals
Communicate test results, findings, and any deviations to the appropriate parties and act to address and findings or deviation according to the SOP
Engage in the laboratory's quality management system and participate in internal and external quality assessment programs
Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and procedures
Review Lab Results in areas of competence
Perform Competence assessment
Assisting other member of staff in preparation of manuscripts
Perform Data analysis and participate in Manuscript and Protocol writing
Communicating/collaborating with a diverse international group of investigators

Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Officer (Medical Doctor) to work under the CDCI unit. The Medical Doctor is expected to play vital role in evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage patients with HIV and or Tuberculosis in the in- and outpatient facilities of SFRH
Responsibility:

Treat PLHIV and/or Tuberculosis according to National Guidelines for Clinical Management of HIV/AIDS and TB, Standard Treatment Guidelines, and Local guidelines
Diagnose and treat opportunistic infections (OI) and/or referral to appropriate departments
Maintain proper patient documentation, filling of case report forms (CRF) including CTC ½
Consultation and ward rounds to PLHIV admitted to different departments at SFDRH
Working in full agreement with the job descriptions; CDCI, Hospital, and government (MOHSW) regulations
Provide health education and adherence counseling to PLHIV and clients attending CDCI
Attend all compulsory meetings such as every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7.45/8.00-9.00 at CDCI and Friday 07.45-9.00 at SFDRH clinical hall. Attend scientific meetings at Ifakara Health Institute (IHI)
